There are only three days until the 15th edition of the Jarun Cup, which will be held from 27 April until 1 May on the sand courts of Jarun Lake. On Sunday, 23 April at 21:00 CEST the Group draw was held and 36 senior teams were situated into two groups in the women's category and four groups in the men's category.

The teams were first divided into pots according to the current EBT ranking (based on two previously played tournaments), EBT ranking from the previous year, previous ranking on the Jarun Cup 2022, and remaining teams. According to the EBT instructions foreign teams were equally divided into different groups.

There are two groups (A & B) in the women's category and the groups are the following:

GROUP A

A1 Hiekka Hauskaa/BEA (NED)
A2 OVB Beach girls (HUN)
A3 Beach Handball Tilburg (NED)
A4 BHC Dubrava (CRO)
A5 London GD (UK)
A6 Chemo profili Zagreb (CRO)
A7 Goteborg beach Handball Club (SWE)

GROUP B 

B1 Westsite Amsterdam (NED)
B2 BHC Zagreb (CRO)
B3 Olympia Beach Handball (UK)
B4 Multichem Szentendrei NKE (HUN)
B5 BHC Harena (CRO)
B6 Pijesak - SVN (CRO)
B7 Team Slovakia (SVK)

After the group phase in the women's category, the second-placed team in both groups (A2, B2) will play against third-placed teams in both groups (A3, B3), according to the following system:

GROUP C

C1 | A2 - B3
C2 | B2 - A3

First-placed teams in both groups (A1, B1) will go directly to the semi-finals and will play with the winning teams from GROUP C, according to the following system:

SEMI-FINALS

SF1 | A1 - W C2

SF2 | B1 - W C1

The final of Jarun Cup 2023 in the women's category is reserved for the winner of the SF1 and the winner of the SF2, while the third-place match will see the loser of SF1 and the loser of SF2.

The remaining teams will play according to the following:

After the group phase in the men's competition, the pre-quarter-finals (preQF) follow. Second and third-placed teams from each group will play the preQF according to the following system:

preQF4 | C3 - D2

The remaining teams from each group are situated into GROUP G and GROUP H. The teams situated into groups G and H, transfer their points from groups A, B, C, and D.
