General Assembly of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) was held in Turkish city of Mersin two days ago. On that Assembly, the president of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Mateša became honorary member of ICMG. Also, Assembly members have pleaded for maintaining the first beach Mediterranean Games , and the first city to host the 2015^th games will be Italian Pescara. What is more interesting is that beach handball will be a part of this event in the future.

This decision is excellent for  the beach handball, which is in the process of rapid development, and one step closer to the final goal, receiving the beach handball into the Olympic family of sports. With regard to natural resources, and the possibility of tourism promotion through the beach games, we hope that the organization of this competition will prove a big hit in the future.

Besides beach handball, other players from different sports (Sea Rowing, Beach Badminton, Sea Canoeing, Beach Football, Kayak Polo, Beach Wrestling, Fin Swimming (swimming pool), Open Water Swimming, Sports Fishing, Beach Rugby, Water Ski &Wakeboard, Surfing, Beach Tennis, Triathlon, Sailing and Beach Volleyball) will also  participate on this multicultural event.
