DETONO GIRLS WON UMAG OPEN 2013

Umag Open was held this weekend in Umag on the courts of Stella Maris, the first tournament of the Croatian championship in beach handball. About 200 hundred participants in 13 men and 7 women teams were competing for the title. Academic beach handball club Zagreb participated with two men and two women teams and achieved excellent results.

Girls won the tournament in strong competition, where 4 of 7 teams will Umag Open was held this weekend in Umag on the courts of Stella Maris, the first tournament of the Croatian championship in beach handball. Girls won the tournament in strong competition, where 4 of 7 teams will participate in European club championship which will be held in Umag next weekend. With excellent game girls from Detono Zagreb defeated all the opponents in group, and in semifinal (against BHC Sokol) and final game (against Paksoft Camelot) they won the title after the shoot out.The following players participated in this tournament: Jeletić, Krajcar, Žgela, Domjančić, Heraković, Milić, Babun, Lenard, Bolfek i Jurilj. Chemo profili Zagreb in women competition justified expectations wining the  5th place and with its  game style they showed great potential which could grow more with more training. Chemo “Princesses” team : Zver, Štivojević, Janton, Brdovčak, Šarlija, Gojavić, Ilić. In men competition BHC Zagreb won the 2nd place after great play in group and semifinal. After winning all the matches in the group in the semifinals boys from Detono Zagreb defeated Polish team GRU Piotrkowianin. In the finals BHC Sokol from Zagreb was better after shoot out, which was their first won tournament in Croatia. Detono’s defence was not so good and players Kolić and Semren from BHC Sokol made the most problems for current Croatian champions. Following players performed for Detono Zagreb: Henigman, Copot, Jurić, Valentaković, Sošić, Malbašić, Paradžik.

Boys from the Chemo profili Zagreb played a great tournament, even do the results are not showing that, considering they won 7th place. Beside the game against White Boys in group, that ended after shoot out and White Boys won, all the other games were played at a high level that shows that this team can and must accomplish better results in the future. Great plus is the comeback of the player Šulc, after last year injury, so we hope that results are going to be much better. Chemo profili Zagreb participated with these players: Jugović, Vutmej, Madjerčić, Šulc, Margaretić, Požeg. Next tournament of the Croatian championship will be held in Zagreb from 7th until 9th June, while European club championship will be from 1st until 2nd June in Umag. We should also point out our players that were declared the best. Best specialist: Matej Sošić, that is playing very good this season and was chosen for the bes specialist on every tournament this year. Best left wing: Ivan Jurić.
